His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, has appointed Brigadier General Abdellah BOUTRIG as Director General of the General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI).
Brigadier General BOUTRIG is an engineer from the National Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics (INSEA) and a graduate of the Royal Military Academy of Meknes, Class of 1987. He also holds a Staff College diploma (Cours d’État-major), the Advanced Defense Course’s Diploma (Cours supérieur de défense), and a Master’s degree in Security and Defense from the Royal College of Advanced Military Studies.
Throughout his career, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Director of Assistance, Training, Audit and Expertise at the DGSSI, before serving as Deputy Inspector of the Signals of the Royal Armed Forces.
This appointment reflects the Kingdom of Morocco’s ongoing efforts in the field of cybersecurity and reaffirms its strong commitment to securing national cyberspace — a strategic priority in support of the country’s digital transition.
