Participation of the General Directorate of Information Systems Security in the Second Session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Cybersecurity

In implementation of the High Royal Instructions, the General Directorate of Information Systems Security, under the National Defense Administration, took part on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in Riyadh, in the proceedings of the second session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Cybersecurity, with a delegation led by the Director General of Information Systems Security.
During this session, the Council adopted a number of decisions, including the approval of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, the endorsement of the Council’s accession to the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime, the membership of the Council in key international organizations and entities, as well as the adoption of mechanisms and procedures for granting observer status to international organizations and similar bodies. The Council also examined several working papers submitted by Member States of the League of Arab States.
In his address on this occasion, the Director General highlighted that the Council’s first session had constituted a founding milestone for joint Arab action in the field of cybersecurity, which was crowned by concrete initiatives, notably the development of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategic Framework, the promotion of Arab cyber diplomacy, the strengthening of expertise exchange, and the establishment of mechanisms for information sharing. He further stressed that these achievements represent a collective asset that should be consolidated and built upon during this second session in order to enhance the resilience of the Arab digital space.
On the sidelines of this event, the Moroccan delegation held bilateral meetings with the National Cybersecurity Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as with the General Secretariat of the Council. These meetings provided an opportunity to deepen exchanges on ways to strengthen cooperation and to further develop joint coordination mechanisms in the field of cybersecurity.
